Primary Schools

WHAT A BRILLIANT RESPONSE!!

Thank you so much to all those schools who have been working hard on their Harvest Festival fundraising. We are hoping that we will be able to help more chidren than ever this coming year and we cannot thank you enough.

Next year seems like a very long way off but I wanted schools to know that I will be developing more learning materials for the different age ranges so that teachers can ensure that participation in the appeal will be more relevant than ever.

Harvest Festival Appeal 2007

We have an ideal way for you to become involved with our charity through our Harvest Festival Appeal.

Most importantly for you, by becoming involved it is possible to make many curriculum and pastoral links which will bring the world of learning alive.

Naturally, it is our key objective to raise money to help African children, but it is also crucial to ensure that our children grow up knowing that they can make a real difference to the world.

Therefore, raising awarness of our work is vital.

We may be small, but we get results! Children are small but they can get results too!

Please work with us to make a positive difference.

It is entirely upto you how you raise money - creative teachers and children can generate some wonderful fundraising ideas if recent history is anything to go by. Events such as:

  • Cake sales.
  • Fruit sales.
  • Food auctions.
  • Filling in playground pictures of food with coins.

Whatever your contribution, be assured it will be valued. All you need to do is make contact with me and I will provide you with:

  • Leaflets explaining our fruit tree planting programme - One Tree Campaign.
  • Leaflets about developing Kitchen Gardens in primary schools.
  • Harvest Festival posters.
  • One Tree posters.
  • Money collection envelopes.

All the money you raise will help us teach African children to grow food for a sustainable future. Your school will receive a smart CERTIFICATE OF THANKS to congratulate the children on all their hard work.

By joining this appeal you also have the opportunity to request to be twinned with an African school.

Due to popular demand, letters will be coming to schools at the end of August ready for the new term's planning. If for some reason you do not receive a letter, please email me: amanda@seedsforafrica.org

Watch this space for more news because we are hoping to develop ideas for schools further by generating teaching materials, photographs and video may be available to download bringing the work of the charity to life.
