There are many advantages to becoming a Volunteer Speaker for Seeds for Africa.
If you are completing your education at school or in a sixth form college, you will already be thinking hard about future employment prospects. By volunteering for a charity you are giving yourself two distinct advantages over other candidates in this competitive market.
The first is that prospective employers look favourably on young people who have participated in charitable work as it shows a wider awareness of society's needs.
Secondly, by undertaking this work, you will be enhancing your own self esteem and confidence in dealing with a wider range of people. To be able to stand in front of groups of younger children or even adults will help give you supreme confidence in the future.
Seeds for Africa would also warmly welcome any other potential speakers who share a passion for Africa and would like to do something positive to help us. As a small charity, we are simply unable to speak on a personal level to all those who ask and it would be wonderful to have a network of volunteers who could do that on our behalf. You will be able to organise talks at times that suit you.
Whichever category you fall into, our staff will provide you with everything you need to give a 15 to 20 minute talk with slides and notes.
