Elijah
"I go to a primary school where we were given many, many fruit trees to plant by Seeds for Africa. I have really enjoyed learning how to plant my tree properly and I am given lessons on why trees are important and how to look after my tree. The best thing will be to pick my own fruit when it is ready. I can share the fruit from my tree with my friends. I have even been able to have a tree to plant at home to help my family."

Elijah’s school is one of twenty in the Dar Es Salaam region that has received trees for fruit and shade. The children were involved from the very beginning of the project and it has been an integral part of their education. The children have greatly benefitted from their lessons. Concentration and attendance is generally improved and the children take a genuine pride in their work. Seeds for Africa has also funded vegetable gardens at these schools to help improve the nutrition of the children. Children are sometimes encouraged to abandon their education in favour of seeking employment which pays just a few dollars a month.
Help us to keep them in school and provide a balanced meal with food they have grown themselves. Every penny counts so donate today.
